Laboratory Ventilation Systems
We survey the laboratory, take its architecture and appearance into account, and give you clean air through a high-quality, flawless ventilation installation built to last
We install laboratory ventilation with the best systems and make sure your laboratory has the cleanest possible airflow.
A laboratory ventilation system matters enormously for the health of the people who work there. The ventilation systems we have installed so far have satisfied our clients and their staff.
We supply ventilation fans, ducts, grilles, flues, pipes, louvres, hoods, services and equipment as first-class, Turkish-made, advanced-technology products.
Laboratory Types and Ventilation
There are four general types of laboratory:
- Biological laboratories: work with biologically active materials in biochemistry, cell biology, immunology, pharmacology, microbiology and related fields; clinical laboratories belong to this group.
- Chemical laboratories: support both organic and inorganic synthesis and analytical work.
- Animal laboratories: cover the areas where laboratory animals are observed and handled and pharmacological observations are made, as well as the animal holding rooms.
- Physical laboratories: fields related to physics, working with lasers, optics, high- and low-temperature materials and analytical instruments.
Biological laboratories usually have chemical fume hoods and Class I and Class II biological safety cabinets. Chemical laboratories usually have several fume hoods.
Variable Air Volume Fume Hoods
Variable air volume (VAV) fume hoods are the most advanced type and need technically sound design, installation and maintenance. Their key feature is that they keep a constant face velocity as the height of the sash changes. The sash height is monitored continuously and the total fan exhaust volume is adjusted to keep the average face velocity within acceptable limits.
Auxiliary Air Fume Hoods
These fume hoods take in air from outside through a dedicated duct, reducing the amount of room air they use and saving energy. Energy saving matters, but unconditioned airflow can make working near the hood uncomfortable. Even so, the auxiliary air supply is needed for the hood to work properly.
Parts of a Fume Hood
- Body: the visible part of the hood that contains hazardous gases and vapours.
- Baffles: movable panels that optimise the airflow and remove dead spots.
- Sash: by setting the front opening with the sash, the airflow through the hood can be brought to the point where it captures contaminants best. Every hood is marked with its optimum sash position. When the hood is not in use, the sash should be fully closed and kept closed.
- Airfoils: along the bottom and side edges, they guide the air into the hood and prevent turbulent eddies that could carry vapours out. The gap under the bottom airfoil lets room air in even when the sash is fully closed.
- Work surface: the benchtop, or the floor of a floor-standing hood, where the equipment stands.
Ventilation Duct Types
- Ventilation flues, pipes and ducts
- Aluminium air duct systems
- Flexible air duct systems
- Pre-flanged ventilation ducts
- Spiral ventilation pipes, spiral ducts and spiral pipes
- Spiral round air duct systems
- Stainless steel flues and hood flues
- Black mild-steel ducts
- Square and round ducts
We install the most suitable ventilation flues and pipes with every kind of flue system.
Air Filter Types
- Carbon and activated carbon filters
- Wet scrubber filters and flue filters
- Electrostatic filters
- Dust filters and coarse filters
- Ultraviolet (UV) filters
- Self-cleaning filters
- Hood and extractor filters
- Baffle, mesh and cyclone filters
Grilles, Dampers, Fans and Extractors
Grilles and dampers: grilles, plenum boxes, flexible pipes, canvas connectors, extraction arm flex, louvres, external and internal louvres, fire dampers and air dampers.
Fans: ventilation fans, jet fans, axial fans, centrifugal fans and scroll fans.
Extractors: cabinet extractors, in-line duct extractors, flue extractors and extractor pipes.
