Fire detection and alarm systems detect a fire at its earliest stage and alert people with audible and visual warnings, and bear directly on the safety of life. On our laboratory projects we design and install them as part of the extra-low-voltage design.
System Components
- Detectors that pick up a fire at its earliest stage: optical smoke, heat, multi-sensor, gas and beam detectors
- Manual call points that let anyone who sees a fire raise the alarm by hand
- Sounders and beacons that give audible and visual warning when the alarm is raised
- Input/output (I/O) modules that start or stop other systems in the event of a fire
- Control panels that monitor and manage the whole system
Standards and System Types
Because fire alarm systems bear directly on the safety of life, they must be manufactured to set standards. Turkey follows the EN 54 series of standards laid down by the European Union for fire detection and fire alarm systems; product conformity is tested and certified by independent bodies and accredited laboratories. By the way they work, systems are of two types: addressable and conventional.
