Laboratory Flooring

We lay PVC and linoleum floor coverings in laboratories, combining appearance, a continuous finish and practical performance. Homogeneous PVC is water-resistant: it does not blister and does not hold mould or odours, giving an antibacterial surface. By its nature it resists scratches and impacts, and its reinforced top layer stands up to heavy foot traffic. It comes in a wide range of colours and patterns and, as it needs no maintenance, keeps its properties for many years.

As well as laboratories, homogeneous PVC is chosen for heavily used areas such as hospitals, schools, offices, factories, public buildings and healthcare facilities.

How We Choose the Right Floor Covering

Floor coverings are often chosen on appearance alone. Appearance matters, but other properties decide how long a covering lasts and whether it suits the conditions of use. We assess PVC-based coverings against TS EN 649:2011 (Resilient floor coverings — homogeneous and heterogeneous PVC floor coverings — specification) and the related test standards:

• TS EN ISO 23997 — mass per unit area
• TS EN ISO 24343-1 — residual indentation after static loading

• TS EN 660-2 — wear resistance (Frick-Taber test)
