Once our designers have completed a detailed assessment of your requirements, the planning stage begins. Every safety-related outline is prepared to the regulations, and the best option that is also the most cost-effective is submitted for the client’s approval.

We Offer Different Perspectives

To give you a clear picture of the plans, the visual presentation is prepared as three-dimensional isometric drawings. This lets you see clearly the proposed design, where each instrument will be used and with which furniture, and how the fume hoods will be positioned.

Different areas are shown in different colours in the drawings; worktops, for instance, are easy to pick out by the colour of their material.

Drawing such complex layouts of interchangeable components by hand would be all but impossible. To get the best results, comprehensive software has been developed for laboratory planning alone. It is built on AutoCAD, which is used widely around the world, so earlier sketches and drawings can be brought in easily and the work can focus purely on the laboratory’s details. We send our drawings to architects and planners electronically, in a form they can easily open and read, which speeds up communication.

Planning Details

Our laboratories are designed quickly, accurately and safely down to the smallest detail, for a trouble-free installation and complete satisfaction. Changes are easy to make during planning. Another advantage of the software is that it prepares a list of every part needed to complete the laboratory, with quantities. The list is produced automatically on the computer from the information in the drawing, which makes preparing the project and producing the order easier. Every part is labelled by the room it belongs to and its position in that room, which matters a great deal when the laboratory is installed.

From our laboratory drawings we can easily produce electrical and mechanical draft drawings. Electricians can see at once where the sockets need to go, the mechanical team the gas, water and drainage points, and the ventilation team where the fume hoods, safety cabinets and extract flues need to be.
