Emergency Showers and Eyewash Stations
We assess your existing emergency showers and eyewash stations on site against ANSI and EN standards, install the new systems you need and support your user training
From a health and safety point of view, the first response to a chemical splash in the laboratory comes from emergency showers and eyewash stations that are installed in the right place and work to the standards. Our technical team assesses your existing emergency shower and eye/face wash systems on site for compliance with ANSI and EN standards, installs new systems and supports user training.
What the Standards Require
- An emergency shower must deliver an uninterrupted 75.7 litres of water per minute for 15 minutes.
- An eye/face wash station must deliver an uninterrupted 11.4 litres of water per minute for 15 minutes.
- The water temperature must be kept between 16 and 38 °C. A thermostatic mixing valve (Termomixer) that blends hot and cold mains water can be added to the system for this.
- Our products are built to the requirements of ANSI Z358.1 and EN 15154-1 (emergency showers) and EN 15154-2 (eyewash stations), in explosion-proof and standard (non-explosion-proof) versions.
Installation Options
The showers are connected to the water supply and mounted on the wall, the bench or the floor; they can be installed individually or as combined eye and body showers. Where a mains connection is not possible, we also supply portable eyewash stations with their own reservoir.
